Shield of Gy and Geneva
Gy (Pronounced Gee) is first mentioned in 1227 as Gyez. In 1289 it was mentioned as Giez. The municipality is located on the left bank of Lake Geneva and on the right bank of the Seymaz. It is on the Swiss-French border.
Gy has a population of 480.
This is where my Daughter Germaine and her Fiance David were to get married. Gy Chapel dates from 1609, it is a small chapel with a lot of character and vineyards off to one side.

The Auberge de Gy serves Mediterranean, French and Traditional Dishes as well as having a small vegetable market selling local produce.We had aperitifs and tapas here before going to the main reception.

After the short stay in Gy we tooka taxi to the Auberge de Choully (120 CHF or $80). The taxi driver did not know the way so I had to direct him. The restaurant sells local wines from the Geneva area (The Gamaret "Domaine Grand'Cour" is super). Below is the menu for the reception...... spectacular
